Anybody going to snag dinosaurs this week/weekend? Going to be a beautiful day tomorrow. I'm going to wait a bit until the rain starts, followed by nasty cold weather.
There’s also a $10000 first place tournament Saturday.

We went to LOZ last weekend and caught some spoonbill but my boat spent most of our time drifting for catfish. Got a 40# blue in the process. Spoonbill were scattered pretty good. Pretty sure the dipsy divers are taking their toll on the population compared to 5-10 years ago.

Doesn’t MDC still stock something like 50000 per year?
Average of 20k into LOZ each year. 16% never leave the main lake. If a guide catches 8 fish a day for 45 days that's 360 keeper fish per guide boat per season, and there's a BUNCH of guides out there these days.

And regular guys that switched from jerking all day to running divers are catching SUBSTANTIALLY more fish per day. It used to be pretty rare to catch a 4 man limit in a day when jerking, now I'm pissed if my boat doesn't catch 8 fish a day.
But the graph doesn't show the number of fish it did 5 years ago, opening weekend or a month later once the water warms up.

There's still a lot of fish out there don't get me wrong, but it takes about 8 years for one to be a keeper, so they better up their stocking rates to make up for the additional fish being caught today. MDC has acknowledged that in the lakes, but I'm not sure if they are acting upon it.
Either that or reduce the daily limit, or put in place an annual limit like Oklahoma does. Or charge a $10 snagging permit and put all that money into additional stocking. If you can't afford $10 a year, stay home.

Here’s an example of livescoping them. This guide guarantees a limit.

I would be shocked to hear that the guides are booked solid through the weekdays.
A lot have seaarks with enclosures and snag every day of season rain or shine unless it’s bad lightning. And the one I know is pretty well booked every day. Maybe not 3 trips a day, but 1 or 2 for sure. I think most shoot for 2 trips a day, just like the catfish guides downtown stl.

Not sure I could grind out that schedule!
