I did click there and they contradict each other. Left a message with the Missouri office, waiting to hear back. Thoughts?

My understanding is the boat would need to be titled and registered, but the trolling motor would not.

You don't have to title and register a jon boat or canoe if you use solely paddles or oars. If you put a trolling motor on it, it is now a motorized vessel, and requires titling and licensing, though the trolling motor itself doesn't require registering like an outboard.

The 12' length only applies to sailboats as that's written.

I never heard of titling a boat or motor until 3 years after I moved here and went to sell my boat, motor and trailer (my jet ski's had already been stolen). All I had was a bill of sale from when I bought them. The state office said they would have to charge me back taxes and a fee to title each one. So I called a friend in Kansas and said, Hey, ya want my boat cheap.... fixed that.
