Anyone got a secret to keeping the hair off the meat. I think I'm going to try tossing them in water so the hair sticks to the skin, didn't know if anyone had a proven method?

You should try burning the hair off with a torch before you skin.:D

A lot of folks swear by dunking them in water before skinning them. I never worry too much about it. I rinse them really well after I clean them and then let them soak in a bowl of water for a few hours. Any hair on them comes off by then.

I always run a little water on mine before I start cutting. Works for me. If you save or sell the tails, cut the tail off first.

After getting hair on meat while skinning them, rub baking soda onto the meat. It will help the hair to release.

Found this video showing how I skin a squirrel which leaves very little hair on the meat.

You guys are blowing my opportunity to get fishy to burn all the hair off a squirrel and then try to get ahold of the skin.:(

The only advice I'll need from you is signing up for AARP and Social Security

You should be getting AARP letters by now.

Social security will be flat broke from politicians stealing it before you get old enough.

Your screwed. Better get that torch out and learn how to skin a squirrel so you don't starve when you retire.

Been preaching it for years... Dunk that squirrel real good in water before you skin. Get the squirrel good and soaked and it'll do away with hair on the meat troubles.

Once it hits the fryer who's gonna know?

Get one of them old fashioned razors and shave the entire squirrel before skinning, your welcome.

I never have problems with getting hair on the meat when I skin a squirrel. I need to take fishy to my squirrel hunting spot so he will quit whining.

    Squirrel probably has the Mange.

I take soak them in water, cut Feet, Head and Tail off, slit across the Back, put fingers in and pull both ways. Do Rabbits the same.
