Well this morning my wife drove us up to Dittmer to my freinds house. While the wifes visited and the kids played. I took the Encore system with the barrowed barel on it to the range.

I first shot the Hornady Sabots with the 240grain XTP NAG projectiels. 5 at 30 yards.

He was to buissy playing with the 2 puppies my freind got for his step daughter for x mass. They are keeping the puppies at there house untill x mass day.

I think i figerd out why so menny ppl are putting scopes on the encore barels. The sights on this barel with the fiber optics are horible. The front site optic is not big enouf to sit in the cut out in back sight. The fiber optic dots are to high to line up with the front optic if you set teh front optic fiber in the cut out in rear. Piss poore set up.

If my freind gives the ok ill be putting old style sight on this abrel down the road.

i use a scope, cause i can no longer SEE the sights :whinging:

besides, 100 yds at 9X is a lot easier on the eyes than 100 yds at 0X :whiteflag:

Talk about tough seeing iron sights! :whinging: I had to either go to an inline w/scope or give up MLs altogther. :whiteflag:

FYI, my encore will not group 240gr .44 cal xtps, but loves the .45cal 300gr xtps, go figure huh?? at 100yds i can not keep the lighter and shorter .44 cal xtp inside the opening of a 55gallon drum, and i can't explain why

I can see them, although they are more than a little fuzzy and when I try to line them up they start dancing. I never used to realize that sights had dancing talent. Past 25 yards, I might as well try throwing rocks.

Ill have to give the heavier ones a try. Thouhg I was using the 45cal the .452 diamiter 240 gr XTP/MAG Hornady pistol bulets in the Hornady 50 caliber high velocity black sabot. It lists the 240 and 300 grain bulet waight for use.

One thing I did notice is that sabot is snug as a bug. It took my freind alot of arm mussle to laod the sabot in each time. So its not a case of a lose goose sabot.

Now I just got to find 300 grain XTP MAG bulets.

Thank you for teh sugestion.
