I know the Legal shooting times are 30 min before sunrise and 30 min after sunset. If I shoot a deer 30 min before legal shooting ends then after trailing and recovery it is after legal shooting time how does tagging the animal work? I don't want MDC thinking I shot it after leagal time.

You have until 10pm on the day of harvest to check your deer in. Agents understand giving a deer time to expire before you take up the trail. As long as you check it prior to 10 you'll be fine. If you have a difficult recovery and it is after 10 when you find your animal, contact your agent and let them know you'll have a late telecheck and why. They understand that these things are a part of hunting.
