I know farmers that plant corn and they usually have leftover seed, that's what I use.
Depending on the size of your plot, you could try finding something like that.

What are you guys doing for seed corn? The hybrid stuff is pretty spendy. I found some open-pollenated seed for $37 per 50#.
I understand the "bin-run" corn from a hybrid planting will sprout but not put on much of an ear.
