I added a custom cheek rest. And grips.
They have not sent yer DS back yet ? I knowed they had most a 1000 sold or more. Then these issues rose up n bit them in the hiney. I won't ever buy anudder new crossbow on the 1st yr model again. Ispect they will either fix yers or put all of yer stuff on a new platform. Right now i don't have the time to fool wid mine when it does come back. I have started my Fall/Winter firewood cuttin & splittin. I need 4 cords to make it til middle of this comin May. I have only one cord done
More work than I would want. At least it don't get real cold down there.
The coldest i have been in here since we moved here was in 2009 got down +-zero fer a few days. Most of the time it stays above 10 degrees, n thats very good
I didn't think you got much below 32 and then just for a day or 2 occasionally. We haven't been very cold for several years.
You would be surprised then, last yr was a warm winter very few dustings of snow. We had a 14 degree mornin was the lowest n that was nice. Our water barrels will freeze 5-6" thick on top fer days
I got a new DS at 10:55 am. My Custom stock was on it n the took my scope mt trigger box with Serial n put into it. Its a new crossbow !
shoot it yet
No the winds have been really blowin here. I have to get scope n rings back on it. Durn daily life gets in the way of stuff
Well is it shooting well? Hope to hear of positive feedback!!
I got it all set up, shooting 1-1 1/2" groups out to 50 yds. I will shoot it some more n ck to make sure it stays right. Going to try to shoot at least a few shots every day
Got mine back yesterday and shot some this am. They didn't ship my cocking sled or case back with my bow. I used one of my other sleds and while it worked it hit the riser and was hard to cock. The bow shoots similar to vixenmasters out to 60yds with 400gr arrows with 2" blazer vanes and a well lubed rail. I expect even performance when I get the correct sled Tuesday.
What are you guys lubing your rails with and how often? Do you lube your arrows to?
I only lube the end of an arrow if I'm shooting into a target like a rhinehard that will fuse the arrow into the foam.
I use scorpion venom lube for the rail. I'm finding the deathstalker likes a well lubed rail. I don't let it get dry. I reapply as needed.
I have not used any lube on my servin, frame isn't going to wear. I may put some jig-a-loo on the deck on my next practice session
I had my mind set on a Excalibur micro suppressor until I stumbled onto the DS yesterday. My brother has the Orion and loves it.
I've been reading your thread about DS problems and am starting to second guess the DS.
I would love to hear your thoughts from the guys who are shooting the DS and or have experience with Excalibur.
Nothing personal but how tall are you, its all about the cocking of the crossbows. OK, they sent me a new DS, its been shooting great 2" n under group out to 60 yds. They have the issues taken care of on the DS. Now the long sled i have, has too much play so i used sticky velcro to take up some of that play. When i cock my DS it still bumps the riser web as it goes over it. That may bother some ppl. it does not bother the accuracy. I am 5'9" n i had too shorten the sled cord to cock the DS in comfort. I own several Excals including 2 Micro's. They are not comparable with the DS, 2 way diff crossbow styles. The Excals are just a solid performer day in day out. I have not had the DS long enuff to say that & be honest. I am a person that does not put all of my good eggs in one basket. Would i buy the DS again, yes! I am testing it every day 1st shot cold to see where it hits compared to where i aimed. So far its hit exactly where i have aimed
It sounds like the DS is going your way. What kind of groups have you got with the Micros? Do you ever have POI changes with your Excalibur?
Groups with Micro's are 2" or less out to 50 yds even usin the fixed B-Heads. Seldom do any changes occur. If'en so its brace ht has changed or the scope mount screws have gotten loose letting the scope move
I have been test shooting my DS out at 30-40-50 yds. One shot to see how its going to work. 2 mornin's now its hit right, tried at 30 yds n 20 yds. Will just keep shooting it until its proven itself.
