Seeing much rutting activity yet? Here in south central Missouri I’m seeing some fresh rubs and scrapes but not like I normally would by this date. Not much deer movement either. What are you guys seeing where u hunt?

Buck in the back yard seemed to have his neck starting to swell going to pull the camera tonight and see what is on it.
All it takes is one older do to come in early to make things go from zero to 100. Some of those older does are starting to warm up. buddy of mine saw one of our mature bucks chasing does last Sunday.

No sign of rut activity here in Morgan County. Just now a couple of cur dogs chased a yearling doe with a tall racked 135ish buck right behind her 10 yards under my ladder stand. No shot presented on them. Dogs just now came back through quiet looking for something else to chase. One looked to be a redbone and the other a border collie.

Had a mature buck bumping does Oct 12th, snort wheezed him in to 40 yds, no shot. Killed him Oct 20th from the same stand. He was following two does and ended up coming in to the decoy. Northwest MO

Saw a 3 year old sniffing around on a doe tonight. 3 other does around. The one he was curious about ended up trotting off.

He wasn’t really harassing her or bumping her, but he could definitely smell something starting.

Shoot them all
For one I will never take a shot at a running deer with archery equipment. And two I will never shoot a dog running a deer. The dog is doing what is natural. I know where both dogs live.

Miss the good old days when a comment like this would have lit the place up.

To the topic. Rut will be the same time this year as every year. November 7 should be a state holiday.

You gotta watch it though cause they'll end up being the most dangerous thing in the woods. Got attacked by 11 of them turkey hunting 2 years ago.
