it all boils down to big bait, at least that's what your wife says...
I dont’ think we caught a single gar or turtle last year. We did catch one big crappie though.
Last year was an odd year. We caught the snot of of blues and channels. I think we only kept 3 or 4 flattys and the biggest was in the teens I think? Can’t really remember.
So Here is a refresher course, this is what we are after, at least our boat is and why we want big bait
did you take that pic in your noodle hole Yote????...those are some dandies.
And he’s what the same two fish look like in MTL.
You guys are always harping on the channel cat. Just rehook them 2 or 3 pounders
I have heard of guys doing that and catching some really big fish, but I believe that's is in states that allow you to that
But the biggest cat I ever caught on rod and reel at loz had a 8 pound bass in his belly
You guys just aren't using big enough perch for bait.
How much did the picture weigh or was the bass the bait?
The cat weighed 72 minus 8 actually I had glob of spoonbill eggs the size of two fist, took a lot of thread to wrap it around the hook.
but that was back in day when it was legal and 3 or 400 pound stringers was pretty common for nights worth of fishing
Were you fishing below the dam?
we fished below the dam a lot , but then started doing down around buffalo cove , 72 , Hiawatha and seemed to catch more and bigger fish and less people. I see the Truman rock rats on fb are in full force catching bait and hitting the damn today, guess they're running some current down there
Ms. you can use crappie if they are legal length to posses. Over 12"
Judging from the picture we are fishing too deep
maybe we should use the dogfood trick......that really worked well last time.....
One of the funniest things I’ve seen while fishing.
That's cause neither of you were in the boat the time the 50 pound blue hit when the line was in my hand
However we have evolved, gotta new trick to try this year, gotta be sure I have it set up before hanni gets there and tells the other boat what we are trying
We can blame that on Fishy, pretty sure he got carried away pretty sure he was trying to feed the whole lake. lmao Worked great the first year.
I wish Missouri was like that, I kinda believe if you catch the fish it belongs to you and you should be able to do with it and if you want to put it on a trot line so be it
seen on the website they raised the rates on rooms
