Roaring River tips

We are staying in a cabin down at Roaring River in a week with another family. I needs some tips of what powerbait to use and how to rig it. I have always fly fished and ran spinners with a lot of luck but I need some tips with powerbait to help the families kids catch a fish or two. Any help is greatly appreciated. I would need brands of bait, color, etc.

Visit the fly shop on top of the hill north of the park and ask what has been working and buy some baits there

A split shot 12-18 inches above a size 14-18 treble hook with white or chartreuse powerbait is usually money.
Put a 1/80th or 1/64th ounce white jig head about 24" under a small foam cork. Add just enough dough bait to cover the hook and look like a small grub. Cast and enjoy!
Back when I had youngsters, I used very sharp red single hook and a power egg (pink or orange) with enough split shot about 1 ft. above to cast and barely bounce alond the bottom with the current. Fish the opening buzzer to increase your chance of success. It is legal to assist the kids as long as you also have a tag. I din't even fish, just helped them get tangles undone, rebate hooks and sometimes help get fish off the hook and onto the stringer. :D
