Ribs and Kraut wuth dumplings....Yummmmmm

    Tonights dinner...

    2-3 pounds of Country style Pork ribs
    couple bottles of dark beer
    2 cans of Kraut (regular or Bavarian)
    1 bay leaf
    caraway seeds if you like em

    In a large dutch over or stock pot boil the ribs until about done in the beer and enough water to completely cover. Then add the kraut and reduce heat to a simmer until the meat is fork tender. At this point there should be plenty of liquid...not soupy but enogh to float dumplings. If not I'll add some water or more beer. You can make your own dumplings but I use bisquick and follow the recipe on the box. Spoon the dumpling mixture on top of the kraut and ribs....I pretty much cover the whole top of the pot with dumplings. Continue to boil gently until the dumplings are cooked through.
