The numbers of sightings on my place have remained the same the last 5 years if not longer.

Those numbers are still at zero. Quail might show up at some point but Mr Pheasant will be a no show unless I release a few to feed the local predator's.

Free bump so henry and the rest of your followers can respond.:D

Hard to believe you don't have any quail or pheasants in your 37 acres of mature timber.

Believe it......and that's 39.36 acres or 1,714,712.2 sq. feet.

That's where I do all my upland hunting. I learned long ago the driving to the Dakotas for pheasant was a waste of time :D

Bill, honestly, did you ever have any quail on the property?

I have in years past a small covey of 6 or 8 birds. I've only seen or heard them about 4 times in the 23 years I've owned the land. Without the right equipment to make a more suitable habitat for them they I doubt they will hang around for any time. No crops anywhere close to my place. Just the edge of the pipeline for any type of cover they require. If I did have the right equipment it might support a few birds. Funds are limited to purchase such tools.

Good point. All that extra drive time and time cleaning birds adds up.

Had 3 coveys and didn’t last long once Fur market went belly up.

Had Turkeys move in after I killed over 300 ***** then 5 years later they was gone. Farmed it just the same.

:D The Big Grin could have been a Rabbit Dog.
Early rains produced a lot of cover. Hopefully good for all gamebirds, even meleagris gallopavo.
