I got a pound can of it here as well. Can't remember why I bought it unless it was just to test or might have been given to me. Always used Goex FFg BP untill I tried T7 this year. Might run some of the Pyrodex through after ML season just see how it does.

Thanks.
So, it says that if you set your measure to 70gr of black powder it will actuall dispense like 52 gr of pyrodex but it will have similar charge characteristics to 70gr. of bp.

Nother question... when sighting in, do I run a wet patch followed by a dry patch or two between shots?
As you can see, I have no business with this thing.

Thats what I thought I rememberd seeing.
I've only shot this thing 3 times and I had someone else loading it.
I'm clueless with it but I am making time enough to go tomorrow to shoot it and become more familiar before I hunt.
I'll be hunting with a friend that is familiar too so I should be guided pretty well.
I hate not knowing my shooter before hunting but time is tight for this short trip and I am deerless due to greed so far this year. :D

I gave my SIL a range lesson last saturday. First time for a ML for him. If he can do it a caveman could do it. :D

So, for measure, just set it to 100gr and I'm good using this stuff correct?

I know someone who will. I'm selling that gun tommorow to ross331, He will probably want it. If I can reserve for him, Id like to do that.

Cool.. I thought I had a load thought up for this setup before but I didnt have time to get to the store and buy all the junk I wanted so I just have to go with what I have laying around.
I hate to use the powerbelt sabots I have but I may have to unless I can talk my buddy out of a few of his hornadys.
It'll be a very unlucky deer in front of me if I can actually make something happen. lol
I dont ml hunt but I really want a chance to hunt snow on saturday and my bow is out of commission right now so I have no choice.

He's more than welcome to it, it's just sitting in the closet taking up space.

[rquote=1514994&tid=105633&author=curtism1234]Pyrodex has been the go to powder for 20 years until 777 became popular.

It's still pretty well known as the choices in good propellants are still relatively few. It's pretty corrosive stuff - most say worse than black powder. About 3 days is all you should give it before you clean the gun (preference to 2). Any more than that, you're going to have some damage.[/rquote]
I'll clean this gun the same day... it was a gift and I hate it to go to pot.
Thanks for all of the input everyone. More is welcome. :whiteflag:

From a good friend that wont use it anymore.
Why is that? Corrosivity or something??

That's exactly why I switched to 777. Couple years ago, I somehow forgot to clean my ML at the end of season. The next year, when I was checking it out, I discovered my mistake. Was used to shooting pyrodex & was scared to death I had ruined my new omega. I gave it a good washing out in the sink & looked down the barrell. Was still as good as new.:2thumbsup: No way I coulda said that with pyrodex.
