I had the same question. The spray sucks. I was thinking about trying a 5 gallon pail of something oil based and brushing it on when its warm and dry. Is there an "official" shade of purple?
I've done that. Those that live on/near these places are nice folks. Not all owners live onsite though, some appear to lease, and this sometimes leads to confusion of property lines. Besides some of this property I'm on has been inactive or vacant for years. I don't live onsite either and I'd like to send a message that it is no longer vacant/inactive.Go make a friendship with your neighbors is the cheapest option.
Do you remember the the shade and type of paint you landed on? Totally agree on understanding the statutes.Make sure to carefully read the MO statute for the purple paint law. I have neighbors who tried to prosecute not once, but twice and the trespasser got off due to incorrect posting of the property. It's very specific for size, location, height from ground, etc.
I put signs every 100' and purple paint in between the signs. I bought it by the gallon from Walmart and it's holding up well. The biggest issue was getting a shade that looked right.
If you are talking about Missouri there is Trespass 1st Degree and then there is Trespass 2nd Degree. 1st is if it has been posted with purple paint, signs, or if the person has been told then it is first degree trespass. 2nd Degree Trespass is if no signs, no purple paint, and person really believes he is where he has right to be then it is 2nd Degree Trespass. All you have to do is prove the person is on your property to get a 2nd Degree Trespass. Landowner just has to be willing to press charges.Make sure to carefully read the MO statute for the purple paint law. Lol someone maddddddIf you jack wagons don't like using purple paint then don't use it. I see no reasoning trying to make some individual feel bad for protecting their property. It's ok to spend more money on signs and have them hung up every so often but by God if someone where to use a designated color of paint instead, oh boy, what buttheads they are. I wish someone had a couple extra gallons and a few hours extra hours to paint some unwanted trees purple for some of our fine folks here at MWT.![]()
Oh no not a $75 ticket. Sounds cheaper than a leasefind a paint store...find a white or off white oil base paint in the "reject section".....ask them to tint until it'a a nice purple.
it will last forever in the can or on the fence posts.
oil base oil base oil base. i painted my posts 20 years ago....still purple. it just has to look purple....shades right or left are of no concerns
and i don't give a flip that we folks are trashy to some of you all....
trespass on us and i will smile all the way to the sheriff's office.
Not mad at all sweetie pie! Now those who hate purple paint and property lines might be. They hate the fact it's their first warning.Lol someone madddddd![]()
