I think you have to go to Missouri conservation website to add your comments to the current regulations if you want to change a regulation. for example if you wanted to use thermal scopes at night to hunt coyotes which is currently not legal. you may add your comments. just fyi.

You shoud be able to use any method possible when it comes to yotes.... :D

This would include tactical nuclear weapons, Abrams Tanks, modern jet fighters, and even archaic weapns like anvils dropped from above. :D

I wish trapping season started and ended later. Better fur and less conflicts with the deer hunting crowds. I trap but wouldn't want a trapper running traps on my place during deer season. Move the season 15 days later, I don't see a downside. Surely they aren't worried about over harvest, not that this change would effect harvest to any measurable amount.

I think adding a month to trapping season would be sweet.

Trapping until Feb 28th would be better, but Id suspect MDC wouldnt make that change since youd really have to trap until June to make a marginal difference for other species. I would support trapping til June as long as the animals removed were actually utilized and not thrown in a ditch...

You missed a perfect time to reference the holy hand grenade of Antioch. Disappointed in you.

Problem with moving season later would be that most fur is past prime. Fur buyers wouldn't buy the raccoon and coyotes because of it (not that threy is a lot of buyers to begin with). They tend to rub themselves going in and out of dens. Bobcat....probably would be more prime.

Fyi, would love to drop an anvil on a coyote from 300’ up. :D

    flatlander_ Really? Show me. .

I'd be in favor of a December 1 opening and a February 20 close.

It's always been irritating to me that we have to stop trapping cats when they are still prime.

As far as coons and coyotes go if they aren't any good either stop trapping them or throw 'em in the ditch whichever you prefer.

It's more funnier when the coyote drops the anvil and can't let go of it. I've seen video.

I've been told several times that the trappers association has always opposed lengthening the season. Is that true ?

some higher ups don't want it extended due to fur quality going down hill, but lengthening cat season would be welcomed but not sure where it is at now...

With such a weak fur market for so many species ,,sport plays a bigger role than fur value for most. I think sport and population control for some species probably trump fur value these days.
