Well.....not NEAR what it was last year, but we still had TON of fun!

Its still earlier than what we fished last year, so there should be a 'post fish' after the Roundup too. I tried to plan the Roundup to be the best week for fishing this year, and I really think its going to be.

    Grand total was:

    80 channel cats

6 flatheads for a total weight of 185 pounds for an avearage of 30.6 pounds

1 blue cat that weighed 26 pounds

1 carp (on a hotdog) (dorkfish)

1 crappie (on a little bluegill)

80 Yellows, ya did good, that's 80 less to be tying up my hooks

One Blue, I think you'll do better than that on the post fish, course may be nesting now, not familar with lake blues, would mak it tough

Couple more......I think this was the rest of the ones I had in mind.

Yeah, funny how I kept track of those channels one by one, and the total came out to a nice round number. :stickfight: We would have caught less if we would have had bigger bait too. That's the bad thing about using smaller bait, is its easier for the channels to get on there and tie up your hooks to where I flathead can't come by and pick up a good meal......some day, I'll catch a flathead on a channel cat that's bit a little bait.

I don' think we'll catch that many channels this coming week, cause they'll be going to the nest. I think.....

 I've got to spend today tying up almost ALL new drops too, cause the channel cats have spun up almost all of them to where I don't trust a 50 pound flat on those lines.

We've already had two broken drops this past week. :stickfight:

Got 60 of them to tie up for ol' Hannibal and I.

drops shouldn't take long to tie, I just get a piece about 3 ft, double it up, tie a granny knot in the end, run it through the eye of the hook and push the hook back through the big part of the loop.

Not real good at explaining it :roll2:

I believe that is a palomar knot, Fishy. Supposedly the strongest knot you can tie.

I just know the big blues on the river sure don't like it, ain't lost a drop yet

Lost a few half lines when the river came up, best I can figure they caught a log, can't imagine anything else braking the main line

It wasn't a log that broke 'em. I cut 'em.
