I'm slackin! Usually I'm the first one to see this type of stuff and start spreading it all over the interwebz. What a beast! I figured ol Frank was going to be the record for a while. Since February, the state record for brown has jumped just shy of 12#!
I better get a dozen minnows and head to Tanney. I have something to shoot for now
4lb line I’ve lost 2lb fish on that . That’s a pig!

Apparently it's official now, 40.4lbs - 41.25" long - 28" girth. They were going to release it but the fish didn't make it. Skin mount.
giant fish, can't even imagine hooking one that big!

It's all about the girth.
Fatty:tup:
Should there be an asterisk with a triploid in official records?
Be hard to at this point. The IGFA record book for rainbows is littered with triploids from Lake Deifenbaker in Canada. The Konrad brothers have caught all but just a few of them.

I heard Bill, the guide who caught, say he landed it in 5 minutes. He fishes Taneycomo almost every day. That Berkeley pink power worm is consistently a good bait.
