So I have had these apple and peach trees in plastic containers for awhile.

Can I still plant them i the ground or should I store them until spring?

They are about 6' tall.

Thought September was a better time...

I am worried bout the freezing soil and lack of root growing potential.

Roots will grow until the ground freezes solid, and will start again when the ground thaws.
Plant at the right depth.:eek::

I have planted American Chestnuts in early-mid December with great success. As long as the ground is not frozen where you can dig you can plant. :cheers:

I do on potted plants. I'm not yet sold on doing it for B&B. I'd prefer to buy bare root stock for 1/3 the price... since I'm cheap.
