peep sight question

1022 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  WBF
Last year I got a new bow at bass pro. When they set up the peep site on it it was turned a little bit but the guy told me after a bunch of shooting it should straighten itself out. Now I will admit I don't shoot a bunch by any means. I finally got my bow out the other day and started shooting for this year, which made me remember the peep was still turned. I can straighten it out right before the shot if I twist it and the string at the spot of the peep. Problem is I can see myself forgetting this if a deer presents a shot.

This setup does not have the rubber tubing, it is just the peep site in the string.

Has anyone experienced this before and is this something that will cure itself over time?

Thats what I was afraid of. I am not a bow expert. What needs done to fix this problem?

The string needs twisted to the correct position. Turning on the top cam moves quick. Lower cam twist rotate slower

For what it’s worth none of mine are inline when the bow is not drawn, but when you draw it and apply tension to the string it stretches and twists into the proper location to see through the string. The main factor here is that the peep and d-loop should be lined up with one another and both should be close to straight when not drawn.

If it’s close, but just a little off at full draw you may be able to fix it by rotating the dloop a little. If it’s way off then you have some twisting to do.
