It looks like the Ozark Chinquapin is going to take! I selected a site that is a very well drained, upland site. This is about 30 yards from an American Chestnut, so I may just get a very unique cross.

American Chestnut has such great timber growth.

Letem ,,how many chinquapins do you have ? ,,,I havent had much luck with them once they sprout
It was the lone survivor that I saw this trip. I'm hoping it will thrive since it was planted last fall there and came up....time will tell.

I do have two more growing in my yard from seed.

You can sure tell it's a baby Chestnut when you see the leaves.
