Just got in from our opening day hunt. Birds were not flying at all and we ended up getting skunked, but still had a good time. We took my oldest boy, who turns 3 today hunting in the blind for the first time. He didn't do bad, but my 9 it was time to go.

While I was in the process of eating a pancake a canvasback snuck in on us and landed just out of range. When he took off he didn't give us a shot. Just before we left we had a group of about 15 gadies give us a good look. They got a bit too close and I just had to make sure the shotgun still worked, but didn't even draw a feather.
