    congrats rmr,
Sounds like you had the same kind of morning I did. Shot mine at 6:30. He came is druming about 10 yrds away. I also had 2 more birds strutting at 40 yards, 1 jake at 15 yards and another tom heading my way. The bird I shot was 23lbs, one spur was 1 1/2" and the other was 1 3/8". I am going to need an official ruling on the beard. It actually had a split beard one part was 11" the other was 10 1/2". Some people I showed it to called it a double bearded bird, but to me it looks like it was split years ago and just had some skin grow up in between it.

I had a appointment at 8:30 so I wanst even going today
but I woke up and it wasnt raining and so what the heck ill go I figured I would have to leave the woods at 7 to get home and cleaned up for work these turkeys start working
at 6:35 and its 7.05 when Im standing on his head. Im 15 miles from home and need to dress this bird. so getting all that done and getting to work on time was maybe a record
glad none of my friends that work for the state werent north of town.
