I would have to think that this only happens when the turkey starts to move...

The added weight out from the body of the bird would cause it to kind of lose it's balance and the tail would **** to one side because of the added weight in places that the bird wouldn't usually have it.
Make sense??

I believe it is because he is tilting his tailfeathers towards the object of his desire!!! Shows off his "colors" better when tilted towards the ladies!!! Don't you do that too???lol
