Hunting here at home this morning. Saw 2 so far, tiny spike and unidentifiable deer 50yds away. Cold morning with a SSW wind. First legal deer gets an arrow I need some meat!

I’m on a ridge overlooking a creek bottom between bedding areas and cut corn. Early action was pretty good , saw 6 does and 2 young 8pts. Slowed down since 8:30 but I have the day off so I’ll be here for a bit. Tender little mini tempting me right now 30 yds behind my stand munching.
Just had a tight racked 130 10 at 9:55.

Better morning today. Hunting Gasconade cry. 2 does and rattled up a real good 9pt. Had him at 40yds, but couldn’t get him to come closer. Also a yote

Funny you should say that. I just got off the phone with a guy about a new one. But for $400 it's hard to beat a place with a 6 week rifle season, and 6 deer limit. Plus a bunch of hogs. I also have a farm in Mo that usually has a stud or two on it, but so far this year I haven't seen anything I would pay $225 to shoot. First time since 2014 I haven't had a target buck by now, but between having a kid and opening a new business I haven't put in nearly the work it takes to be a consistent slayer of monster bucks like in years past. But if anyone wants to go in on a lease in Kansas, Illinois, or Kentucky, or has or knows of an opening, let me know!!Hope you were able find a different lease this year.
