Looks like we need a state wide Elk hunting season
Nodaway County authorities say an elk was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday morning.
Nodaway County Sheriff Randy Strong says deputies were called to Highway 71 and Route M west of Barnard around 5:30 a.m. Authorities found an elk that had been struck by a motor vehicle on the side of the road. Authorities have contacted the Missouri Department of Conservation.
Sheriff Strong says it is the first elk killed by a vehicle in the county to his knowledge.
