up for sale is a Nikon 4-12X40 BDC scope. Never been installed on anything I bought it to put on a encore barrel but the barrel I bought came scoped. 100$ shipped.

what's a BDC? Is that like a ProStaff?
My understanding is that it's a grade lower than pro staff or a Walmart type price point model. So probably in the high 80's percent wise for light transmission. 16559 model. Midway reviews specify the brown box. The Natchez refurbs are usually a white box with refurb sticker.

I have two Nikon scopes they both came in a black box .
Could there be cheaper lines of bdc
Pretty sure BDC is the cheap line. Then you have ProStaffs with a BDC reticle. Then Monarchs. Seems like some shady advertising to me. Most folks probably think they're getting a ProStaff
