Pretty sure BDC is the cheap line. Then you have ProStaffs with a BDC reticle. Then Monarchs. Seems like some shady advertising to me. Most folks probably think they're getting a ProStaffI have two Nikon scopes they both came in a black box .
Could there be cheaper lines of bdc
My understanding is that it's a grade lower than pro staff or a Walmart type price point model. So probably in the high 80's percent wise for light transmission. 16559 model. Midway reviews specify the brown box. The Natchez refurbs are usually a white box with refurb sticker.what's a BDC? Is that like a ProStaff?

Exactly! Those guys are just mess'n with ya.To my knowledge all the BDC means is it had the bullet drop compensation reticle.
I didn't mean you were shady advertising. I just thought that it was kinda tricky of Nikon to have a BDC and a ProStaff with BDC. They look almost identical.Yep this is the brown box scope. Exactly like the link you have there from midway. No where does it say prostaff in my post or on the scope.
