I was messing around by the Missouri River this afternoon, just tooling around in my truck, and stopped to check out the view. I heard a big splash, and saw a nice buck in the water. Couldn't believe what I was witnessing, so I grabbed my phone out of the truck and took a picture. The buck was across the river in less than 10 minutes and floated less than 1/8 of a mile down stream. I was cheering him on the whole time.

That's pretty cool. So the big deer DO go from South to North.

Humans are better swimmers than deer, so I would say it's highly possible! I'm tellin' ya, this guy made it look easy!:trophy:

Boating on the Mississippi back in May for work watched a doe swim the river and narrowly escape being smashed by a barge. Then two weeks later in early June watched a small buck swim the river from Pike county MO to Pike county IL. Was definitely cool watching that. BTW, cool pic.

Sounds to me like we need to get a high fence up on the river so they can't do that. :blah: :D LOL
