Took my new CZ .221 Fireball to the range this morning, to try out some loads that might work for PD shooting. I think I like this little rifle. This load is some 40 grain bullets doing around 3500fps, pretty good for less than 16 grains of powder.

50 grain bullet doing about 3100

I REALLY like this load, it has some serious potential. If I hadn't goofed up the last shot, it would have been under .3", as it was, it was almost identical to the other, .684" vs. .682", shot another group at .700". It's a keeper, I think. Yep, five shot groups:D.

Oh yeah, although the storebought stuff is pretty good, at $16 a box, no way, no how, would I buy more than ONE box of the stuff. I buy unprimed brass from any one of the mail-order places, and just stuff them myself. I bought the box of ammo shown, just to have something to play with, until the components came in. Still got half the factory stuff in the box!

very nice, 16 grains of powder for that velocity:eek:.

a pound of powder would last awhile.
