Scope mounting is another big advantage for the Marlin over the Winchester. This becomes especially important as our eyes "mature".
Anybody that puts see-thru's on a rifle should have to wear a scar on his forehead the rest of his life. Kind of like, "here's your sign."

See through mounts are like a right of passage on a Marlin 336. Same goes for a Remington 740, 742, 7400. They just don't look right with out them.

I’d bought that in a second for 500.00. Only way you could have topped that deal was if it was in 35 Rem

There is one in a 35 at an auction next weekend in Cuba. Interested yo see how high it will go at the auction.They have several guns to auction.
