My wife and I grabbed a Moultrie digital game camera while at the local Wal-Mart this afternoon. I have it all set up and ready to go out tomorrow morning.

My son and I plan on him grabbing the .410 and rousting as many rabbits and squirrels get in his way. I'll be looking for sheds and finding a place to hang the new camera! I'm really excited to get this camera and hope it lives up to my expectations.

Well, we made it out. Woke up to a layer of snow and cold wind but went out for a while anyway. We did not see a single rabbit or squirrel and didn't find the spot I really wanted to hang the camera. My son had basketball games all afternoon so we plan on trying this again tomorrow morning.

I have the moultrie 200 and use a moultrie rechargeable battery. I put the battery in 5 or 6 days ago and have taken nearly 300 pics with most being at night. The temps have been in the 20's and 30's. I just traded cards out today and the battery still showed 98%. I have heard some say they have had batt. problems though. I put mine out in the edge of a food plot and put a little corn out too see when the bucks shed. Congrats on your new cam ,can't wait to see your first pics.

I put the camera out Saturday and will check it again this Saturday. Hopefully I'll have some pic's to share by then. I'm hopeful I'll get a closer look at the giant buck I posted last summer. I've seen him since rifle season so I know he survived.

Have you been happy with this camera... I've been lookin at it, but a friend has had nuthin but trouble with his Moultrie 100 series camera. Was hopin they did a better job with the 200.

Was prolly gonna get the solar recharger if I did....

Still havin a hard time puttin a 400 cuddeback in the woods where someone can steal it.... So I'm tryin to find a decent digital for about $200.

So far I've been really happy with this camera. I did try several of the 100 Wal-Mart models, but I didn't have any luck with those. I've set this camera up on a fence crossing, and most pictures are centered. So, trigger speed must be good. I just took the battery out today. It lasted about two weeks and took nearly 800 pictures. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't show the moon phase. I called Moultrie, and the lady said it was a software problem and to send it back. But I'm afraid the replacement might not work as well. So, I'll just keep this one. I used to have a 35mm Camtrakker, and the Moultrie has taken more pictures than it ever did. I don't really like how it makes the eyes look huge, but I can live with that. For $160 it's a good camera. But then again, maybe I just got a good one.
