New caliber

Okay I am buying a new rifle to be used for deer hunting in a caliber that I don't have yet. The rifle will be used by Me, my wife, & my 12 yr old son & I want input from you guys on what I should get. I will not be reloading so ammo cost is a consideration as well as recoil. Feel free to post any reasoning behind your choice.
I currenyly own =
.22 hornet
.220 swift
.243
Nagant 7.62X54R

Since you're not going to reload, I'd choose the 308.

You get relatively mild recoil for the youngster plus more choices in ammmunition than you would have with some of the other cartridges mentioned.

I think I have decided to get a 7mm-08 & a .308 on an interchangeable barrel single shot platform, either a Thompson or a CVA. The Optima Elite looks pretty enticing.
Thank you all for your input it has definately been a big influence on my choices. I will post pics of the new rifle when I get it, probably after Christmas.
If you're thinking about a new single shot interchangeable rifle platform give the new CVA Apex a look. Underclocked has one of these and thinks it is a pretty darn good rifle and well made.
