im interested in buying a varmit rifle, been looking at the winchester mod 70 coyote light, but i know theres many out there, ruger makes a good #1 and model700 is nothing to sneeze at, savage makes a great gun, bolt gun or single shot is all im interested in
i have been considering something in the .243 .257 roberts or even 25-06 because i can double those calibers as a deer rifle
and please don't bring up the fact that a .223 can double as a deer rifle, im not a fan of any .20 cal for deer, ya'll can shoot em with a .223 thats fine, not me:D

Yankee as you prolly know I love the Ruger No 1's and you couldn't go wrong with one but my coyote rifle is a Savage 111 LH 22-250. I like the extra shots that come with the bolt action, sometimes more than 1 yote comes in at the same time. Mine is pre-accu trigger. Years ago when my eye sight was still decent I could shoot 3/4" 100 yard groups w/factory Hornady custom ammo. I'm sure the gun will still do it but doubt I can. I haven't found a load yet for my No 1 25-06 that will shoot that tight.

I'd like to pick up a 223 barrel for my KP1 one of these days myself. I'm not big on SS and plastic rifles but it would make a good rifle to keep on the tractor while I'm brush hoggin. I have a terrible feral cat problem and I see them all the time when I'm out on the tractor.
