Friend shot a deer night before last, and was not able to find it at the time. Looked all yesterday to no avail. They just called and found the deer. Question is, with as cold as it has been, lower 20's and below since the deer was shot, will the meat still be any good? They would really like to salvage any they could off of it. Not sure what to tell them..........

Meat starts to spoil at 40 degrees. If it stayed under 40, I would say it's still good.

Yep, tell him to blow his nose and take a good whiff. Unless something was already wrong with the deer, it will taste mighty good.

Nothing like killing a deer and having it in the freezer without trying.

[rquote=1505884&tid=105037&author=MoBowman]Wonder how difficult it would be to gut a frozen deer? Like pulling a block of ice out i guess :rof2:[/rquote]

Just use a torch and thaw it out for a bit....lol:rof2::wave:
