Better get some rain soon in my area my turnips are starting to turn yellow on higher ground. Forecast for rain Fri-Sat. Clover still looks good as does wheat and oats. First year planting winter peas so not sure how they handle the heat and lack of rain. Look ok for now.

mine are kinda yellow but I figured it was because too much rain.
My yard needs rain. I had to water the last couple days. I couldn’t tell you the last time I watered a yard but it’s new grass and I don’t want to loose it.
Mine that are on high dry ground are turning yellow. The turnips in lower ground that still has some ground moisture look great

North facing plots can make a huge difference when it turns off dry especially August / September. A couple years back we had more rain in the gauge for the month of August than we had for September and October combined. The majority of the plots that died out due to lack of rain ended up with Winter Rye drilled into them Mid/Late October. So there’s options . Just be ready to pounce when the rain event hits...

Mine aren't gone yet but if we dont get weekend rain the turnips on high ground will be. Everything else seems to be holding ok. Can you broadcast the rye? I did broadcast some more winter wheat just hope turkeys dont eat all the seed!
You can broadcast wheat and rye. I threw some out last two saturdays ago before our last pretty decent rain on Sunday. Having been back since. Hoping we get that rain they are forcasting. We haven't had a drop since then. And went about a month before then without a good measurable rain.
I need it for my yard. Wouldn't stop raining so I could get my topsoil spread and now it won't rain so I can't grow grass.
We are fortunate in NW MO this year. Lots of rain. So often it has been hard to hay even in August and September.

the corn is drying oout, talked to a guy yesterday, he said they might be cutting later this week instead oof the planned 2 weeks from now
We were still good last weekend.
It hasn't rained here in almost 2 weeks or so. Be be close to 3 by the time it does the end of this week. I'm sure my plots could use some moisture. Haven't seen my plots in 10 day but they looked good then.
My plots just started looking bad last weekend. Really just the turnips

Same here.
NWMO has been raining every week for nearly a month or so now. I don't know where y'all are at, but you guys can have some of our rain. Can't get out to hay some ground for it won't stop raining. It rained last Thurs, last Sun, last Sat, and nearly every other day the week before last, and yea can't get out to frick'n cut our dang hay. Finally got it cut yesterday and it's suppose to rain again all weekend this weekend. So we'll bale it Thurs, and because of the incoming rain we'll have to let the bales sit out much longer to dry and next week looks like more rain is coming too so even more longer time to dry before storage. There's a higher risk of mold and "burnt" hay from all the rain. So we're praying for no more rain. Sorry folks.
My turnips are burnt up. Planted wheat and rye on a predicted 90% chance of rain. Two weeks later we got .25 inch of rain. Spotty would be an accurate description of my plots.
I don't give a crap about my yard. Water my turnips!!

Got the much needed rain 2+ " hopefully will revitalize my turnips and rest of plots

I don't usually but very little grass=dog with muddy paws everyday and it sucks.
Ran my cams and checked plots today. The last 2 weeks have been hard on them. Deer and heat have hit all 4 plots hard. Browse pressure is going to make bulbs none existant. Hopefully they will start growing leaves again. If we had gotten rain, I'm not sure if my plots could of survived the browse pressure they have gotten this year. Luckily, the wheat, oats, and clover is filling in behind them and will love this needed rain.
