My handi rifle wont extract the shell. When I take the shell out via the cleaning rod down the barrel it appears to work fine.but the minute I load it it sticks..... any Ideas???? I dont want to switch to the muzzleloader already. :mad2::mad2:

Have you cleaned the chamber lately? If not, do so, and a switch to some other ammo might be indicated.


Are the bullets touching the rifling at all, when fully chambered? Pull one out, and see if the bullet is being "engraved" but the rifling throat. If so, another type of ammo is indicated.

Thoroughly clean the chamber removing any oil, etc. with a bronze brush wrapped in steel wool (000). Then Flitz the chamber real good keeping all oil, etc. out of chamber and off latch shelf.

I did end up scrubbing the chamber and getting it nice and clean and dry,that did the trick. glad it was a simple fix.

I was going to say you could my dad's old trick of carrying a brass weight with you to drop down the barrel and pop the shell out. At least that's what he had to do with their shotgun.

Are they reloads? I have seen that a few times with reloaded brass.
