Not much of a story. We had hunted this creek bottom a few times in the last couple weeks and the bucks and does were sticking to the brush next to the creek. With Dad and Patricks direction i went in way before daylight and hung a set on the east side if the thickett. Shortly after first shooting light this big 8 comes in to 15 yds! Hunted hard the last week and a half and couldnt get a nice on in bow range and then my rifle season is over quick. He is my biggest yet! good luck to everyone who is still chasing ditch goats!

Great deer! Sounds like your luck was like mine. A lot of deer seen with the bow, but no shots. Then you get the rifle in your hand and a dandy walks right up to you! Gotta love that kinda luck.

I actually shot this buck north of huntsville, mo. He is a chariton river bottom buck, so im guessing thats where he gets his mass. I usually dont see this much mass in the deer on that farm either. I was pleasantly suprised!
