I just got into turkey hunting about 4 or 5 months ago. I’ve been hunting public land all season. Today a friend of mine invited me out to his private land for a hunt. We were set up for about 30 minutes before this guy started walking up. He gobbled 1 time about 100 yards away from us and silently made his way in. I shot him at about 35 yards. At first I thought I missed because he flew off but after flying about 75 yards I heard the thud of him hitting the ground. As you can guess I was beyond pumped. I’ve really enjoyed turkey hunting and look forward to future hunts!
Sounds like nearly the exact story as the one on my first gobbler 41 years ago. I body shot him running/flying straight away and he went about 100 yds... Congrats
