Kinda seems like frog season on private farm ponds should be year round....
Why didn't you invite me to go with ya Yote, I finally got the boat trailer, not sure we could get Hanni to run the gig.
When did they change that ?
Grandpa said "you have to beat the poachers "
You would have to run the gig. Hanni would tell you what the mud you get on it is made out of.
guess we could go tonight:whistle:Hanni doesn't have the stamina for frog hunting anymore,it gets dark to late.
Oh yeah, I got that ar waiting for you to work on when you come by and make your wife happy
I had forgot all about that, got to go see an old friend once more fore they put him under this afternoon, I might make it out Friday.
But, those frogs might migrate over to my property someday, you own the land, not the wildlife that's on it.
Besides, I don't see what the big deal is, afterall, it's just a frog....
I always thought beating the crowds for frog gigging season was a Missouri Tradition....
Exactly what is the limit on walking catfish these days???
Kind of interesting be a Poacher to keep ahead of Poachers.
So all these Deer feeding during cooler days should be Fair Game or as some say that's different.
Anymore Poaching to me is Poaching I don't care if its Frogs, Squirrels, Groundhogs or Deer. Poachers all have the same mentality.
Otters got all the Frogs around here.
The Big Grin don't know about seasons she can't read.
Its funny that killing a frog out of season is being called a poacher. I know there are laws, but its just a frog.
Sounds to me like you need to go poach some otters.
It's still poaching....
I remember when I was a kid, I had relatives who's frog season was a full week or so before the rest of the state...... They'd go in and clean out the sloughs along the river..... They knew exactly what they were doing, just didn't care.
So, if you love frogg'n I would say you are probably gonna dislike people who do that, just as you would dislike people killing deer with a rifle one week before season opened....
Poaching is poaching, don't really matter what critter it is you are poaching...
It seems like the size of the animal dictates the severity of the poaching charge.
Even within that, a big buck being poached gets people riled up way more than a doe.
Never remember even knowing when frog season was when I was a youngster. My grandparents had 7 different farm ponds, good times.
There's a season for frogs?
Not if they are harassing your livestock.
I hear there is not many people hunting them anymore, prolly gonna over populate, catch some disease and have a major die off, Help save the frog
Kinda hard to hunt them when you can go buy a 5# box for 20 bucks and don't have worry about limits or have to skin them
What about the ticks and chiggers!!!!!!
Use to like Frogging but like I say it has been years since I heard one around here.
Know Guys on their own place Frogging before the season and yes I turned them in. It cost them $80 for Fine + Court cost. Kind of like a Guy I knew catching Bass out of Season, yelp I turn him in.
And around here there is no Season on Deer or Turkeys and like any Poacher they don't care Murder and Arson don't bother them here.
Don't forget snakes and spiders too. Ever have a snake drop out of an over hanging tree limb into your gig'n rig?
I'd say going to the store and buying them is the way to go, as yote suggested.
Aw man I forgot about them.
