Mounting a flint tip arrowhead to a bamboo arrow shaft

No video but photos taken from removing the target tips, cutting a groove, filing groove to fit the flint arrowhead, taking pine tar and mounting flint tip, finishing up with wrapping real deer sinew to secure the flint tip to the shaft. Ready for the hunt.

Nice work. Did you make your own pine tar?

So, how would you do that if you did not have power tools and steel blades to use?

That's pretty cool! It would be nice to make everything from scratch but you still got a lot of skill more than most have.

Same way the Indians did.

Found this two part video on how the Indians did it back in the day.

Is that what you're doing?
Nice work Bill. Can we all start calling you Tonto if you are successful in punching that that through a rib cage this fall? :D
Looks good Bill. Hater's gonna hate. Don't let that stop doing what makes you tick.

Did you make the flint points?
I made an attempt to make my own but got discouraged when they kept breaking when almost finished. I picked this particular point up at MoJam in Marshall last month from one of the knappers that was there. I need to get back to trying it again. It's much harder than it looks like on youtube videos and in person believe me.

Sorry...just saw this question. No I didn't make it but a member sent me some he had made mixing pine tar and crushed up charcoal. I think the native Americans used dried dung crushed up added to pine tar and ash to give it more texture for holding power.
