I am getting one of the drakes killed this morning mounted... What all kind of poses are there for ducks, and what would you guys recommend? I was thinking about getting him cupped up? Any suggestions, or pics?

As long as we're talking about WANTS...

I WANT 10-30 cupped mallards hanging in the entrance of the log cabin I have on my 1,000 acre farm/duck club. 30' vaulted ceilings of course!

I'm just guessing here but you didn't mention what type of drake you want mounted. I'm taking the liberty of assuming that it is a Mallard since most of the above talk is of Mallards.

So...for the first time guys that want a mount I would expect a mallard to show off what is unique about them compared to other ducks. That is the blue-purple wing patches with the white tips and the curls of the tail and of course the green head. A cupped mount would only show the green head, plain two toned brown breast but it would show the white underside of the wings and orange feet.

My first mallard mount is this one. I'll see if I can get a comparison photo of a cupped drake.

UH-OH I count 7 birds!~ Somebody is one bird over their limit in that dead pose! Unless they are in the Pacific Flyway of course! :scared::stirpot::wave:

Hmmm.. Do you have to count mounted birds towards your possession limit? I mean you have to count them inf they are in your freezer, right? Why wouldn't you have to count them if they are mounted? :stirpot:
