A relative of mine live close to where lion spoted this morning . Lincoln co off aubuchon rd
thats maybe a few miles as the crow flies from my mom and dads.
hmmmmm you sure that aint a bobcat with a little longer tail?????
Somebody need to get some good clear track pictures with very clear heal pads..... and put something beside them for scale.... and then send em to me.
Looks like a golden retriever, or it could possibly be on a stroll from the dakotas
looks like spots on the left front leg but my eyes aint what they used to be...
I will vote not a bobcat. There appears to be a distinct color change from body to belly hair . 02
Back is too straight for a mountain lion.
I vote bobcat..
Not a lion...
I have never seen a bob with a long tail like that.
i tried to zoom the picture a bit but of course that did not work. the ears look more like a bobcat , with as you say a little bit longer tail. if it is a lion it is a small lion.
Sit a 5-gallon bucket out there for scale....
that would certainly help. That road goes directly to the cuivre river where there has been rumored sitings for years. Hopefully it will be investigated and a news release will follow.
House/feral cat? Maybe it is nearer than appears, kinda like "long-arming" does. It appears it may be closer than the tree and far closer than the road than it initially appears. Or it is just the common cougar/bobcat hybrid.
Looks like a Mtn. lion to me.
looks like a pregnant Mt Lion to me.
That looks like a powerful left front lion leg to me. There also appears to be a shoulder blade bulge, but hard to tell due to the blurry artifacts of a crappy photo along the back. Tail looks like a rope.
I am serious on good clear track pics in my post above. Would love to see them with something to scale them by. Track pattern would also be cool.
You might say I am somewhat of a cougar nut. Had one in my scope at 80 yards on 9 power back in 87. Then I treed one in 98.(That will wake you up at 1:00 am when you are in the woods alone.) About 4 other sightings I would give $100 a piece if there was a way to know 100% for sure.
No just nursing a litter right now. On her way to the store to get the litter something for breakfast.
Our farm is just a few miles up the road and my cousin seen one in 2016 60 yards away while bowhunting there. We have found tracks a few times as well so it would not surprise me one bit.
