went out yotein tonight. walked into my second set up and old wiley was already there waiting on me. don't think i bumped her to bad as she walked to the trees and dissapeared. i sat for about five minutes and then hit the caller. looked out and seen a mangy thing sitting there. he evidently played that game before because he went the opposite way in no big hurry at all. however not all was lost, noticed where the landowner dumped one of his cows after a mishap and looks like the yotes have been eating on it. if the rain stays off of me in the morning i will be there at daybreak. if the rain doesn't stay off that is fine too, we need the moisture.:sniper:

Good luck Mike! We got a bit of rain / sleet this morning, didnt amount to much. I think i might oughtta get into this yote watchin'. Every few nights I hear 20-30 them suckers howlin like theres no tomorrow, and their probably only 2-300 yards from where I live. When I was goose hunting, looked like some burrows dug in around the pond. Do they burrow underground?

Anyways, sorry to mess up your thread,

again good luck..

dave, you aint messin nothing up brother. i love going after yotes. every once in awhile you get a treat and look out and see a bobcat sitting and looking for the wabbit. never in season but one of these days. as far as burrowing, yeah they will dig holes and lay in them. year before last a guy who had a duck lease around here got tired of his decoys heads being bit off when the pond froze so he called me up and we went after them. poped a few off the pond. wasn't a tree in the section hardly except around the ponds and the yotes would come up out of the berms.

Right on... I wasnt sure if they were burrowing or what caused it, being that I hear the yotes over by the pond where I saw the holes and what not, just assumed it.. Can you hunt them at night? I mean, thats when I really only ever hear them, and i mean it sounds like a BUNCH of em.. Ive only seen one or 2 a couple of times when ive been out during the day, when i was duck huntin or quail huntin, wabbits.. etc.
