I've been reading some of the questions put on here and the answers a lot of the time usually refer to the regulations. Then there are answers like this one for example from another post that says "contact the agent from the county in MO where you would be fishing and find out exactly what you need to do to be legal without question".

So do the MDC regs depend on how the agent in that area interprets the regs?
    thanks!

It is the job of the Conservation Agent in each county to know the rules and regulations inside and out of the fish, forest and wildlife activity that takes place in their county. Limits, methods, and other details may vary greatly from one location to another. This is especially true of one body of water to another due to management goals and sometimes local goverment regulations. For example, being able to hunt on a lake inside to city limits of a certain city.

When you see a response like this, you could also read it as, "Your best bet is to call and ask the local expert, so you can get the most exact and up to date information where you will be hunting or fishing."
