Ill be down there in week or two.I hope water goes down and clears up.
Nicely done Seth. What kind of line did you use?
Does not look like many people there.
lol I just don't get it. But I'll say a day fishing is a day better spent than at work!
4# Pline Premium CX in moss green. When the water clears up, I will use 2#.
I go more out of tradition than anything. I've hit every opener (aside from last year) for 15-20 years. This year I went mainly to take my father in law since he had never been on opening day before. I've made four trips down to Taneycomo in the past two months chasing trout so I could take it or leave it myself. Back when I didn't fish between November-February, I couldn't wait for opening day at the trout parks.
You're 100% correct on the beats working part!
The step, bathroom and bridge holes were fairly crazy. That hole I fished doesn't get near the crowds as some of the more popular holes.
Crazy fishing in a crowd like that. Looks like you are really reeling them in....
Nicely done. Those fish were wild over your jig. Doubt I could fish in a crowd like that anymore.
I'm making a late new year's resolution to do more trout fishing this year. The kids are now of age that they love fishing, and the last 2 years of moving has been crazy. I haven't trout fished in nearly 3 years now.
Kids free fishing day is May 19. If you ever decide you want to take your kiddos and need a hand, give me a shout. I've not been down for kids day in years since my cousins and relatives are all much too old now. It was always a good time. In a few more years, I should have some nieces and nephews that are old enough to start going though. I'm looking forward to it.
Yesterday was definitely not as enjoyable as when I go and it's less crowded. I only do it on opening day. Opening day is purely a slaughter fest since there are so many fish int he stream. After that, I rarely get down there before noon. It's easy enough to catch my fish without going down at the buzzer nowadays. This weekend might be another exception to going down early as I have some buddies from school who are wanting to go down. They aren't the best at trout fishing so I have a lot to try and teach them.
I'm trying to talk the wife into a trip to Memphis for a soccer tournament that weekend....... If she continues to stone wall me, we may do this instead.
It doesn't have to be kids day either. That is just the day that popped in my head when you mentioned getting the kiddos involved.
Or kids of your own
Our dachshunds can't handle a fishing rod though......
Looks like a lot of Dinks
Looked like some quality fish to me. But even an 11 incher is better than not reeling in a fish.
I've liked the Vanish fluorocarbon in 4lb. a lot. May have to check into the PLine CX as well.
