Those Alligator Gar are a hell of a lot of fun... this summer we shot a few 20 pounders, a 50, a 60 and the 150 pounder that I posted a pic of... that bad boy took us over 2 hours to "calm him down" enough to tie him to the side of our boat...

Do yall get many alligator gar up in Missouri? I saw a few big ones in fresh water this summer, but most of the ones I saw seemed to be close to the coast in brackish water

We have a few in the Mississippi River waterways. Mostly down toward the bootheel. The MDC has been stocking them down there for a little while trying to reestablish them. I doubt we ever see the real giants in MO due to our shortened growing period (compared to southern states) but hopefully there will eventually be a good number.

Hfff and I are headed to the Trinity River in May. Ought to be a great time!

We're from Lafayette LA but we do the majority of our bowfishing further south down on the coast around the Cameron area... We were really chasing after Redfish all summer, but we lucked up on several nice alligator gar

ohh ya, yall are gonna have a blast... The Trinity is suppose to be crawling with monsters... Good time of year to go after em too... I dont study alligator gar by any means but I wouldnt be surprised if they spawn in May and the early part of June... we saw em everywhere around that time.
