The conservation department says they live in western Missouri and are included in our deer permits. My uncle used to bring an occasional one home from somewhere near St Joseph in the 80s, but he stopped answering questions when he died ...
I haven't been able to find any information about them. Does anyone know of a county where they've been seen or hunted within the last for years or so?

I remember hearing of one being killed in western Dade county about 25-30 years ago.

That's the last time I ever heard anything about mule deer in Missouri.

If you are looking for a wild muley roaming Missouri, you are gonna be eating a lot of tag soup.... I don't normally start seeing them till about 1/2 way across states like KS, NE, SD, ND....... And really don't start seing them until you are about to the next row of states like CO, WY, MT.

Saw one at a check in station in Smithville about 15 or so years ago. I believe the guy said he took it north of St Joseph if I remember correctly.
