I just got the most awesome knife in the mail! I commissioned Tiago De Matos of Wild Edge Knives in the U.K to make a hunting knife with the same shape of my Kershaw speed bump folder and he pulled it off brilliantly!
This is the best shaped blade I have ever used to field dress and skin deer with, but the Kershaw blade was a bit too short.
Tiago uses exceptional quality materials and his workmanship is top shelf!
If anyone wants a custom knife, you will not find a better bladesmith than Tiago!

The blade is cryo treated D2 steel with wood burl, aircraft aluminum honeycomb and resin scales with hand made leather sheath.
My only problem is I will have to wait until next deer season yo try it out
Until then, it will live happily in my display cases at the shop for tourists to drool over.

It will be along should a Tom get within range of the .62 smokepole:D Tiago has assured me I could hammer it through 16 penny nails and not harm the edge, so turkey bones are no challenge. The shape of that blade is perfect for field dressing deer. Most blades require lots of effort separating the ribs when field dressing, but the belly in this blade shape makes it a cinch to unzip 'em with one or two cuts! After seeing firsthand the quality of his work, I'm thinking I need one made for deboning and cutting up the meat.

Curious as to just how he got this pattern on a knife handle? Did he share his secret with you?

the back is wood Burl and the honeycomb is aircraft aluminum . These ate placed in a mold and filled with colored epoxy resins. They are then sliced on a band saw so they are
    book matched for the scales.
I am getting a few pieces from him to make jewelry with. It makes killer pendants! View attachment 96912 View attachment 96912
