I really feel like On-X hurts more than it helps in this situation. I keep following it back to where I marked last blood and it skips me around and sends me in circles. So annoying.
Bad news and good news. Bad news is, I lost the blood trail. I’ve been turned around so long, I barely got back to my truck. Good news is there’s a tracking dog on its way!
Wound up being a perfect double lung. The EZ-V served me well! I never touched my range finder. No idea how far the shot was. She ran about 60 yards and bedded, where I bumped her (I took about 45 minute to pack all my gear). Once I lost blood, I called a tracking dog team (GREAT guy and dog). She wound up being about another 30 yards past where I bumped her from her bed. I was covered in deer all night long. Was an awesome night. This was also the first night I quartered in the field and carried it out. I’ll never drag another deer.
