Finally settled in my stand. Had plans to be here an hour ago but wife wanted to take our daughter to pick out pumpkins. So we do that and I race home to shower and head towards our farm only to get stuck in construction that took 15 mins too long to get thru. Arrive at the farm and as I'm changing clothes I spot 3 turkeys in the field that I have to walk thru to get to #4 stand. So I grab my boom stick and try to sneak down the creek for an easy shot. All goes well except they are no longer in the field when I get to my shooting position. Go figure! So I go back to the truck and get my bow. I was gonna set up the decoy as a doe but it's too windy for it to stay upright so I just put out a Tinks 69 wick and I'm good to go. I'm over dressed but I know it's gonna cool down quickly tonight. Also saw a wood duck in the creek.

Sure is windy. Hope it dies down soon. I'd share my view but not sure how to upload pics from my Droid.

Just had a dozen turkeys come in. Not close enough for a shot.

Until kc704 proves otherwise we will have to improvise and assume he got jittery, made a poor shot and is now out tracking something with severe ground shrinkage. Anyone got a better story?

You all think you're pretty smart huh? Actually, I sat until dark. Seen a world record possum at 300 yds. And a couple of coons. Got skunked on the deer though. I don't get it. Actually, it's getting pretty ridiculous. I rattled, I grunted, I used the can call. NADA!! But as soon as I got down I had to jet and meet up with a guy for a quick biz transaction. I did see 4 deer on the way home. A doe with fawns just south of my place and then an unknown deer in a guy's horse pasture by his barn.
